HUMANS PLAY GAMES is a small, UK-based independent board games studio.
Like many creative outfits, we got started during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Michael, our design lead and real-life Architect, had a brainwave.
This brainwave became a sketch, which became a prototype, which became a real-life game.
The HUMANS PLAY GAMES logo is based on the historic rune Mannaz (ᛗ), generally associated with humanity and shared thought. We chose it because it reflects what board games are really about: people.
Our little company, HUMANS PLAY GAMES, is proudly independent, and our name reflects our philosophy. In an age of too-much scrolling, we believe the antidote is simple:
Put your phone down and interact with real people through board games.
That's it, really. We make well-designed games that bring people together.
Go analogue.
Go low-tech.

We believe in people and the wonderful things they make. In the same way that humans play games, humans make art.
